Inverness Castle Viewpoint

Inverness Castle stands proudly over the city. It was previously closed to the public but as of April 2017 part of it became another tourist attraction with the opening of the Inverness Castle Viewpoint.

The viewpoint offers expansive views over the city and beyond including views of the Black Isle, Kessock Bridge, Inverness Cathedral and River Ness.

On the climb up the tower, information boards highlight local history including Brahan Seer and the origination of the Loch Ness monster legend.

Inverness Castle has probably been in existence since the 11th century however the current sandstone structure dates from the 1830s.
