There are quite a few accommodation options in Inverness and the Highland area. There are lots of hotels in Inverness and bed and breakfasts (B&B). Inverness does get extremely busy over the summer period so it can be difficult to book a room however there are a number of villages and towns nearby which are often overlooked. E.g. Beauly, Nairn and North Kessock are all nearby. Check transport links if you do not have a car. People taking city breaks in Inverness tend to arrive at the weekend, so if you are staying longer you’ll often find cheaper rates during the week.
Self catering is a popular option especially for tourists planning a longer holiday. There are a number of cottages and lodges for rent near Inverness and in the Loch Ness area. Normally rental periods run for 7 days from Saturday to Saturday however there’s more flexibility out of season and 3 day Highland weekend breaks are popular.
It is possible to find cheap accommodation last minute If you arrive in Inverness and have not booked accommodation. Head for the Tourist Information Centre at the bottom of Castle Street which is about 10 minutes walk from the Bus and Train Stations.
